The Competition Systems product range of sensors have all been thoroughly tested under the demanding environments of motor sport, many of which are created purely for us and built to our own specification by specialist companies who are leaders in their specific technology.

String potentiometer - Small sized, light weight string potentiometer to be used for displacement measurement where conventional linear or rotary potentiometers are not suitable for a particular installation.

The potentiometer should be mounted on a flat surface using two #6, or smaller, machine screws or two M3.5, or smaller, machine screws and suitable washers To maximise string life, the transducer should be aligned with the moving element so that the string exits the unit within 2° of the normal.

Rotary steering sensor GL - This unique design allows universal installation over the steering column on most types of racing car with up to 173 degrees of measurement in each direction. No end stops are fitted to enable the sensor to rotate out of range without damage or restriction.

The internal bore diameter of 20 / 30.0mm may be machined out where necessary, or alternatively reduced down to any size using the CS74 nylon sleeve which is supplied pre-machined to your specifications.

Rotary throttle sensor PF09 - Automotive specification rotary potentiometer housed in fibreglass reinforced PBT casing. Output drive direction is ‘Anti - clockwise’ when viewed from the mounting face of the sensor

Typical applications are for throttle position measurement within a low cost or low volume serial production engine.

Drive method – Shaft with single flat side

Rotary throttle sensor PF2C - Automotive specification rotary potentiometer housed in a fibreglass reinforced PBT casing. Output drive direction is ‘clockwise’ when viewed from the mounting face of the sensor

Typical applications are for throttle position measurement within a low cost or low volume serial production engine.

Drive method – D shaft

Rotary position sensor SP - Rotary potentiometer with a backlash-free, push-on mechanical coupling for a quick and simple installation. The use of elastomer-damped, multi-fingered, precious metal wipers ensures reliable contact under the severest conditions. The potentiometer is enclosed in a high grade, temperature resistant plastic casing with a stainless steel shaft and is sealed to IP64. Aluminium housed versions available on request. This sensor is available with a choice of connectors, cable lengths and measurement angles.

laser 'ride height' sensor - Non-contact distance measurement using diffused reflection to create an analogue 0-5v output. Each sensor is supplied with a unique 16 point reference calibration.

Principal based on triangulation. 2 built in LED’s allow diagnostics and operating mode.

Linear position sensor / Standard size - A range of linear potentiometers designed to operate in extreme conditions, all sensors are fitted with ‘O’ ring sealed shafts, various connector types and internal electronics which are not sensitive to moisture ingress.

Typical uses are ‘suspension movement’, steering angle, throttle position, etc.

Linear position sensor / Miniature size - A range of miniature linear potentiometers designed to operate in extreme conditions, all sensors are fitted with ‘O’ ring sealed shafts to provide IP67 sealing. Various connector types and internal electronics which are not sensitive to moisture ingress.

Typical uses are ‘suspension movement’, steering angle, throttle position, etc.

This specially modified version uses larger 5mm rod ends, for longer life and to retain compatibility with existing installations.
